Overrijpe ananas, overrijpe banaan. Kervel. Boenwas / kaarsvet. Een vleug van sinaasappelschil / Grand Marnier. Smaak / Afdronk: Wowww. Wat een prachtig glas wijn . Lage zuurgraad en daardoor misschien wat log en vermoeiend (maar niet voor mij 😉). Geconcentreerd, dik-sappig, een hint van verfijnd hout. Een indrukwekkend lange afdronk. Algemeen / potentieel: Er zijn maar weinig witte wijnen die probleemloos kunnen promoveren van voorgerechtwijn tot hoofdgerechtwijn tot open-haard-wijn. Deze 2004 Ch. No food needed. September 26, 2017 - Deep golden core. Banana, pineapple and apple on the nose. Unlike a previous bottle I tried just last week (which tasted more like fino sherry than white wine - not an awful thing, but certainly not what I expected!), this is not oxidized, but appropriately mature for a 13-year-old white. Very full-bodied; balanced acidity; ground cherry, gooseberry, subtle flavors of tropical fruit on the palate, mixed with something waxy, almost savory, somewhere between pumpkin/zucchini and nut meal. Long length. Very lovely indeed.

January 4, 2017 - Popped and poured at home, from a bottle bought on release. Color was an unusually deep orange gold, making me wonder if I'd opened a bottle of "natural" wine. The cork, however, looked perfect. Concerns were quickly dispelled after smelling and tasting the wine. A beautiful mature white CdP, becoming more mineral and nuanced after an hour of air but still with a thick waxy roussanne core. A treat.

September 6, 2015 - Great bottle. Purchased at the winery and cellared since. Prior bottle was a touch oxidized. This one was decanted and was spot on. Delicious old white Rhone.
