February 4, 2024 - Opened an hour before dinner (prime NY strips grilled over wood charcoal). Great nose and drinking beautifully. The TNs for this over the past two years are quite consistent and right on the mark. The wine is fully mature, very well balanced, no hard edges, just great Brunello. Unfortunately, my last bottle. Thanks again to the somm at Fiola in Miami who recommended this highly two years ago -- I did not know the producer.

May 13, 2023 - Stellar and back to form, not fading at all. My prior review apparently was a flawed bottle. Such a lovely, well-balanced, and expressive wine

March 19, 2023 - This wine is ready to drink now. It no longer has any fruit aromas but a wonderful tobacco and chocolate, with a touch of pepper and caramel. Tannins and acid are minimal . Color was brick red. Beautiful mouth feel very smooth.

March 13, 2023 - First aromas off the top are mushroom, dark cherry, and light leathery notes. A light piney, licorice aroma builds from there. Oak. Purple, light hues of ruby and brick. A very slight haze, looks fully developed and mature. Palate hits leather, dark cherry, licorice...bit muted. Oak repeats on the palate as well but really mellows, with very light charcoal and mineral, hazelnut and white pepper, and blackberry. Acid is...wise. It livens the earthy tones, but the fruit is fading. Tannin is a bit rough, all loaded on the front of the palate. I feel I got this one too late, and I was aware that it may have been. Good wine, though. Seems to have fallen apart a bit, lost some of its fruit and character...This drank like an 87-88 and is probably a 90-91. I split the difference because it is not the wine's fault I drank it too late.

January 26, 2023 - Excellent value for brunello - tasting notes are similar to what others have reported - concentrated black cherry, cedar, licorice, leather and tobacco. Really in a great spot - wished I had more!

October 7, 2022 - Unfortunately this wine lost a lot of its charms, no tertiary notes to remark on. Felt unbalanced and a little thin. Maybe past its peak or hopefully a bottle issue. We have one left and fingers crossed it returns to form

September 13, 2022 - Love this wine and one of my favorite labels! Bought this to take to Mexico to share with good friends. Perfect age. So balanced and everything well integrated. Feminine and elegant. Dried cherry, worn leather, tobacco, mushroom, Montalcino earth, cedar, and violets.

    August 17, 2022 - NOT blind

Far better than I remember my previous 2 or 3 bottles. Maybe the extra time in the bottle has done it well.

Significant tannins that do not bite and while not velvety are nicely integrated. Garnet with browner tinges on the body.

It seems to be in a very good place and while I don't know its historical trend this may be at a positive peak.

July 4, 2022 - Red color fading to earth tones and brick at the rim showing maturity. Did not decant and would not recommend the extra time in air. Some slight VA that burned off in the glass in mintues.
Ripe Cherry, plums, spice, cedar on the nose. Sweet entry, complex palate with ripe fruits, tabacco, minerality. Well integrated into the finish. We had two bottles, one aged in our cellar for 10+ years, the other purcahsed recently at a chain retailer. Big difference in the finish: First bottle had a medium/long well integrated and fresh finish with sufficient acid and balance. Second bottle Long finish that came up a little hot with low acidity and chalky tannin, lacked balance between acidty and alcohol, finished flat with some sweetness, drank as past prime.

High alcohol was the hallmark of both bottles and I feel that it masked some of the comlexity of this wine.

I would say that properly aged, this wine is drinking at peak. Off a store shelf, your experience may vary.
