    May 25, 2014 - Aerated in a Decanter for 3 hrs

Very aromatic with floral tones after opening, the palate was thin and closed, after 3hrs the palate began gain weight and presented some olives and black fruits but overall the wine was smooth, elegant and lean. Not as interesting as the Reynvaan Contender from Washington.

March 9, 2014 - Decanted 3 hours, great nose, starts very smooth (and I was thinking "wow, it's merlot!") before the complexities of the taste kick in. Very nice.

January 9, 2014 - Smoke and meat nose that morphs quickly into floral/fruit aromatics. Smooth brambly red fruits and mineral. Good dense mouthfeel. Nice depth, spices emerge with air time. A more elegant Syrah, but packing lots of concentrated flavor. Almost a little zin like. Seems very well made. I look forward to the upcoming releases.
Popped, Vinturi decanted, drank over about 3 hours.

December 2, 2013 - Meat, black fruit, flowers & road tar all come together in a balanced, structured package. It has plenty of persistence, and is never overblown. This is another outstanding California Syrah that can stand with Arnot-Robert, Wind Gap, Rhys and ESJ as new world adherents to old world style and substance!

September 7, 2013 - Dark. Explosively fragrant with great fidelity to the violet florality of Syrah. Powerful but lean in the mouth. This would be a good mystery wine in a northern Rhone flight. It actually reminded me of a Gonon St. Joseph, which is high praise.
