December 25, 2017 - Upon first opening, it was modest in the nose, a little tight on the palate, shy not especially tannic. With hours, it developed into an elegant Cab, good balance between blackberry fruit and oak at first (nose and initial taste sensation) and more refined layers of darker fruit and pleasant herbal notes on the palate and in the finish. [Tested first with Coravin; then uncorked 24 hrs later; drank about half the bottle, then closed off with vacu-vin and placed in refrigerator; 24 hrs later drank another quarter, and drank the rest another 24 hrs later, again after vacu-vin and refrigerator. Tasting notes are from the last two stages.
May 14, 2017 - Decent cab, but nothing special
December 11, 2015 - Decent but nothing great
January 18, 2015 - Fine, with dark berry fruit and pleasant vanilla aromas. Plush and pleasant.
May 25, 2014 - Lots of vanilla and fruit. Made in a crowd pleasing style. Solid.
March 9, 2014 - Very soft and approachable, with cassis and vanilla oak characteristics, perhaps with a background of rich earth, but clean. A crowd-pleaser, but a well-made and honest one.
March 8, 2014 - One of the best Januik Cabs in a long, long time. Great WA character here. Balanced and complex, really nice.
September 21, 2013 - No notes, but it was fairly big and earthy with blackcurrant and red cherry flavors. Good acid and a moderate finish. Betsy and I both enjoyed it.
