January 3, 2023 - I wasn’t sure how this would go but I found myself quite pleasantly surprised with the wine. This is a bottle that we’ve held on to almost since release. Lots of life left and honestly I think we probably won’t touch the other bottle for some time but you can just start to get that softness that comes with having some years of age. It’s still dark and slightly brooding and a slightly bigger style (although more reserved for US wine). Not quite into the secondary. Give it more time.

September 18, 2022 - This is drinking spectacularly well. Bricking red, with lots of superfine particulates. Layers violets and exotic florals over smoky minerals and iron filings. Fruit is sumptuous marionberry, blueberry, huckleberry complex. Elements of Earl Grey tea and cacao beans. Long, sublime finish.

Has evolved beautifully with nothing detracting, and has a unique profile. Well exceeds it’s very good early showings. Captures that magical nexus of the cerebral and the hedonistic. Certainly one of my favorites of the year.
Great day one with a little time to warm from cellar temp; even a bit better day 2; just as good day 3. Look for an occasion to drink this if you have it, and hopefully it will be similar to my bottle (as I hope my final bottle of it will!).

September 28, 2021 - Closed and a bit overly acidic on initial PnP, this opened up after about two hours of air. Saved half of the bottle, and it showed even better on night 2.

July 26, 2019 - Washington State Tasting (John's House Bloomington, MN): Dark fruits, violets, dust, earth, minerals and underbrush. A rustic Syrah with plenty of aging left. Complex and classic Washington State Syrah.

June 24, 2019 - Dark cherry with savory, briny undertones. Drinking quite nicely on PnP, but held up well being re-corked and stored in the fridge for a couple of nights. Not a ton of structure, so thinking it has a 3-5 year window left.

(Maison Bleue Liberte Syrah Boushey Vineyard Yakima Valley) An aromatically complex wine with dark plum, mineral, huckleberry, currant, floral notes, licorice, and orange peel. The palate is arresting with rich, incredibly concentrated, pure, textured flavors of pomegranate, plum, and pepper, and a finish that persists for nearly a minute. This is a spectacular, mouthful of a wine that only ramps up in intensity as it opens up in the glass and will aged for as long as you care to keep it. As good as the winery has made to date and one of the best wines I’ve had this year. 100% Syrah. Fermented with approximately 30% whole berries. Aged 10 months in one to two year old French oak. 14.5% alcohol. 200 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
