February 20, 2021 - Interestingly bought 6 of these...drank 4 fairly quickly about 10-11 years ago and then put the last 2 away for a while. Bottle last night was definitely the best so far. I have had many 04s including epic bottles like 04 Rousseau Beze and all are marked with the green meanies. This bottle is not. Some of probably owing to Roumier generally having that green steak in his wines esp when they are younger but this bottle was pure. Classic Chambolle earth with good red fruits and the Roumier signature. Well put together - good fruit/tannin/acid balance. This is well integrated at this point and mid cycle of drinking window. Long life ahead. Just a classic bottle of Chambolle from the master. 90+ tonight.

July 4, 2017 - Clear garner with rim Browning. Gig, strawberry, bramble. Low acids, medium to low tannins. Menthol, smoke. Long balanced finish. Bottle at Bardot, LV

March 5, 2017 - {Served by JFTJr at splendid dinner party}. Perfect fill. Delicious, Red with just tiniest of hints of brown on rim. Mature cherry, pomegranite, earth and soft sandalwood nose and flavors, probably drinking as well as it will ever drink. Perfect with an array of cheese. Would rank nose>palate>finish [2nd bottle's cork fell apart, and indeed the bottle was corked!]. Hard to believe this is "just" a villages wine. Drink over near future (up to 2 years)

January 29, 2017 - Clearly a little long in the tooth. Gone is the intensity of earlier bottles consumed from the same vintage. Mild tannins show up and the taste of berries and orange peel remain muted.

November 27, 2016 - Slow ox for 1h. Color is matching that 12 years old great wine. The cherries and pomegranate fruit notes sure as lost a little bit of it's vibrancy, but still compliment perfectly the funky notes of top soil, sandalwood, truffle and spices. Balanced and ready to go. As always, a village only a few like Roumier can do.
