Community Tasting Notes 5

April 1, 2019 - Rose pettals, a bit of flowers in the nose. Smooth & good lenght. This is good but not the great Lumpp we've tasted in better vintages

March 16, 2019 - Lovely. Nice acidity with the primary fruit flavours fading to more truffley overtones.

  • Ianthemac Likes this wine: 90 points

October 27, 2018 - Drunk after a 2011 Chambole VV and before a 2011 Beaune Les Avaux. What a different wine! Darker, more brooding - if you can use those terms
to describe Pinot. I would suggest this has a decent life ahead. It’s bigger than Clos Jus and Le Crausot. Less elegant, and more powerful. Another triumph by François Lumpp.

August 28, 2018 - Suggestion of a wine merchant. Holy cow! A Givry of a bad vintage like 2011 surely must be plonk, right? Apparently not when Francois Lumpp is making the wine. This was very convincing, lots of dark fruit, some toast, mint, good volume and structure. Elegant. Kudos for having pulled this off. Also shows the potential of the appellation I guess. 92+

November 6, 2016 - Une belle acidité, mais le voluptueux l'emporte
