May 6, 2022 - Tasted at the winery, the 1998 is showing very well at close to 24 years old this has fully interfered into the tertiary stage with notes of leather, smoked tobacco, sage, cacao, and spice. The palate is medium bodied with dried fruit, figs, plums, savoury leather, dried crushed herbs and medium tannins. The finish is medium, savoury and dry. This has certainly hit it's peak and those with a bottle should drink now over the next few years. This is a testament to how well Napa Cabernets age!

October 14, 2017 - Outstanding wine. The aromas were escaping the bottle with the cork only half way out. Cork in good shape with fair amount of sediment in bottle. Legs were long and med-slow. Nose was fantastic with loads of leather, earth and great barnyard aromas. Just behind that there was still strong fruit notes in the mix. This wine sang on all three phases on the palate. Just a bit tart on the front, giving way to a full mid palate and ending with a minutes long finish. I'm really disappointed this was my last bottle :(

June 17, 2017 - Outstanding wine. Inky deep dark color. Nose is just fantastic. Deep leather, a touch of vanilla and cedar. Black fruit and berries on the palate along with wonderfully developed secondary flavors. It definitely is showing it's age but in a fantastic place right now. I have one bottle left and will be sure to drink it in the near future. Really delivers on the Oakville terrior.

February 13, 2012 - Tail end of peak drinking - smooth, dark brick color, chocolate and gritty, decent finish, fair complexity. Mild licorice, prune, mild cherry. Medium finish.

  • R&R Does not like this wine:

December 26, 2011 - To bad it had peaked and was quite a ways down the slope. Very bricky, almost brown. Should have drank earlier.
