March 5, 2023 - Opened for an hour (no decant). Really nice depth and complexity - great variety of fruit and nicely balanced acid and tannins. Good finish. This wine has held up incredibly well and aged nicely.

January 7, 2023 - Wow, what a wine. Initially a bit hot on the nose, it took only a few minutes in the glass allowed it to show its stuff. Drinking perfectly for my palate. Impeccable balance, layered fruit and just a hint of secondary notes. Refreshing acidity. What more could you ask for??

August 26, 2022 - Opaque violet color with purple and red fruit, dust, peppery aromas. On the palate it’s medium bodied with refreshing, juicy acidity and well integrated velvety tannins with black cherry, mulberry baking spices, vanilla flavors complicated with hints of sasparilla and chicory.

It’s fun to think that the fruit for this wine may have been picked 10 years ago around this time! Composed of the 22 interplanted varieties at Bedrock Vineyard the wine is roughly 55% Zinfandel, 20% Carignane, with the remainder being all the other cofermented things (Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Mourvedre, Grand Noir, Trousseau Noir, Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah, Tempranillo, Castets, etc. etc.)

June 16, 2022 - So glad I waited on this one. These wines just get better and better... and there is a sense that over time the winemaking team continues to better understand the qualities of what they are working with and how to shape them into their best versions of themselves.

March 18, 2022 - I loved this wine. It has layers of fruit, a deep mix of spices and great rocky minerality. It also has spices, chocolate and fleshy cherries running in a deep, long aftertaste with just enough acidity to keep it fresh. Its a complex and rewarding wine to drink, and the price just makes it feel that much better.

Drank from a magnum. I preferred to drink this by itself without food.

March 18, 2022 - From magnum. Spicy nose, red fruits, has a warm climate thing going on for sure but there's gorgeous lift and spacing. Full and complex on the palate, a surprising blaze of acid jolts the smooth and warm finish into overdrive, this has a stony and precisely tart character that is so refreshing.

December 23, 2021 - Beautiful chocolate covered cherries, dark red licorice in the best way and long long long finish. Delicious factor is tremendous. Extremely happy I have a few more bottles to open in years ahead to taste how this evolves. But just gorgeous tonight.
