June 15, 2019 - Another beautiful showing. pretty much ditto to the last note. Minty note pronounced on opening, but quickly subsided. Lovely with a steak.

May 24, 2019 - Complex mature wine, pretty much at end of life while still hanging on (pretty much where we want to be at end of life!). Still really dark in colour with a black plum centre and only some bricking on the rim. Nose is soft and mature with leather, tobacco, soft dark cherry and dark currant fruit. Intense, rich and ripe palate, initially sweet with blackcherry and currant, but drying to show leather and cedar notes on the finish. Really tasty, especially with food. Would probably have liked this with 2 years less age when the tasty minty note was still there. Declicious well balanced and well made wine. Will plan to drink my last one soonish.

Tasted again two days later, still holding on very nicely. Concentrated and delicious. Probably would revise to say not end of life, but still close. This is an excellent wine.

October 21, 2018 - Minty nose, sweet black fruit on the palate, well balanced and in its prime.

Very concentrated, super-ripe wine with black currant pastille, mulberry, liquorice, aniseed aromas.
The palate is rich and fleshy with plenty of sweet fruit, mocha oak and generous black current, mulberry, licquorice flavours. This is a fairly robust style, the dense, velvety tannins build up very sinewy and grippy at the finish.

Pairs well with Beef, Duck and Game, Veal

August 25, 2018 - Served double blind. Pronounced and intense minty-ness took me right to Oz (with maybe Heitz Martha's as a possibility). Fruit is sweeter and richer than I'd expect from Heitz, so I'm firmly in Oz. Name your mint - wintermint, speramint are intense though well integrated with the rich fruit. Fun, but not something I'd drink with regularity.
