September 1, 2021 - Not a fan
June 15, 2021 - Beautiful. Surprisingly high alcohol at 13.8%. Had with grilled wagyu filet mignon. Cherries, brightness, lovely mouthfeel, and distinct flavor of blood orange.
April 8, 2019 - Pretty sour cherry, raspberry, and faint forest floor in great balance. Compared to last bottle a few years ago, this put on weight and harmonized. Great now, drank over two nights with consistent enjoyment.
December 14, 2017 - Corked, alas. Littorai is graciously replacing the bottle.
September 29, 2017 - Decanted. Extremely well balanced. Drinking well now, but should be good for a few more years. Muted soft cherry with some forest and a medium-long finish. Well done entry wine from Littorai.
July 30, 2017 - Singing right now (mid '17). I was unimpressed on release - dumb, at best a supermarket wine. It has really elevated since - just rich enough, exceptionally nice cherry fruit, a very tiny bit of forest. Fascinating translucent red color with a bit of murkiness. The only flaw might be that it's a little heavy-footed, doesn't quite dance away on the mid-palate or finish. But an exceptional Pinot by nearly any standard. (Drink now - will.last another couple of years, but it's unlikely to improve.)
July 14, 2017 - Not my favorite but easy to drink. Lighter style here with raspberry, rhubarb, and cranberries up front. Has some floral notes to it with subtle caramel on the end. Medium acidity, decent finish.
November 24, 2016 - Lighter style with red cherry, raspberry, and cranberry fruit. Nice acidity, decent finish.
July 11, 2016 - The lively tart and juicy fruit was not present in this bottle, making the wine rather dull. I preferred it a lot more when it was young. In between phases maybe ?
June 24, 2016 - Last note nailed it. Rhubarb, light cherry, light raspberry, light strawberry. A tiny hint of sweetness next to a very dry gevrey from 2005. I liked the 2013 les larmes a bit better, but for the price, at least the old price, these are wonderful. They used to be 39 bucks, or am I just getting old. Why do producers claim to care so.much about their old loyal customers and then slowly raise the entry level price so much. Either way, littorai makes beautiful wines.
