  November 20, 2016 - I gotta say, this wine has gotten so much better with the few years under cork.It was rich, full bodied, but very complex and explosive in the mouth. Lots of cassis, with various savory spices and some soil buried deep within. Super acidity, tannin, extract combination. I would say this is as rich as you can go without being too over the top, but definitely an end of the night wine for me...Really good and long. Drink or Hold

  October 2, 2013 - Napa Valley Wine and Food Excursion 2013; 9/30/2013-10/5/2013 (Napa Valley, California): This opaque ruby wine shows the structure and focus of mountain fruit. Intense aromas and flavors of cassis, anise, loamy earth and allspice reside in a fresh, full-bodied, firmly tannic frame. The wine's alcohol (14.5%) is nicely integrated and the middle palate is layered. Long but astringent on the finish, this is one which will require some time in the cellar. Drink 2016-2030.

  February 1, 2013 - On the nose - black current, toffee, small hints of pepper.
  Great inky color
  French oak with wonderful transitions
  Slight earthy forest in the mid palate
  Coco on the finish
