February 16, 2019 - Still with a very reductive nose, sulfur/matchstick, as that blows off nice mineral component with citrus. Palate has good acidity and mineral component, didnt feel ripe. Only real draw back was the weight. Had this next to a 2012 Chablis 1er for comparison. This showed surprisingly well and is a solid effort at making a chablis-esk chard in California. Too bad Wes isn't making these anymore. My last bottle but I think you still have a few years more if you want to hold.

May 1, 2017 - Pnp was very similar to previous bottles, lots of matchstick on the nose. Slow ox-ed in the fridge and took to dinner following day. Sulfur had blown off, really salty nose and palate. Lots of mieral/limestone, lemon, ripe green apple, good acidity and paired great with seafood. On the lighter side, very delicate, no rush to drink these as they have plenty of time left.

May 20, 2016 - Definitely Chablis like on the nose. Lots of sea breeze, oyster shell and other ocean scents on the nose. The palate gives it away, a little heavier than Chablis but nicely balanced CA chard, a touch tropical with some citrus and medium acid. Overall very nice; paired with grilled salmon and grilled lobster. Big enough for salmon and delicate enough for lobster.

Nose was expressive and interesting. Medium-light bodied on the palate. This struck me as a crisp and “cool” wine: light flavor; medium-light mineral note on the finish. I preferred the barrel-fermented Chardonnay to this one.

November 13, 2014 - Brought one of these to Table 34 last night for date night. Nice, saline breeze and minerality on the nose with a little early bottling tropical fruit. Clean minerality on the palate with nice acid on the clean finish. This paired awesome with the raw oysters and even the lobster mac and cheese. A terrific, not so Cali typical chard, from an amazing vineyard in the Sta Rita Hills. Awesome stuff Wes and Clos Crew!
