April 8, 2019 - Did not really care for it, for the same reason I don't like Brunellos.
November 28, 2018 - Good RRV pinot that I believe needs a few more years to peak. Decanted for about 30 minutes. Nice flavors initially, super bright but without any significant depth early on. I don't think this wine hit it's sweet spot until the end of the evening. Last glass, after 3 hours in decanter, has markedly evolved. Still young red predominance on the nose, and mix of both bright and old, deeper fruit on the palate. Finish is super long at this point and has hints of dark cherry pie, over-ripe strawberries and kirsch. At this point fantastic. 87 points on opening, 91 last glass. Next bottle 2021+
October 23, 2018 - Very aromatic. Lots of sweet fruit aromas with some underbrush. Lovely elegant and velvety expression of Russian River Pinot. Very long finish. Impressive. 13.5% abv.
July 4, 2018 - Brought to a wine dinner last night and it was marvelous. Opened right away with a lovely aroma and had cherry cola notes and spice box on the palate. I got a hint of black cherry and raspberry as well. Nice bottle and it went down easily. My lone bottle of this vintage.
December 2, 2017 - Didn't like the finish on this bottle. Maybe it was starting to go bad, or just part of the aging. Finish was european earthy style, reminding me of a tawny port. Have always liked this producer's PN's in the past - we'll see how my remaining 2 bottles taste.
October 25, 2017 - Second bottle. First was opened in 2015 and was so bad I tucked this one away hoping for a little aging magic. Abra-cadabra! A medium weight cherry and cola easy drinker with a good long finish. The epitome of modestly-priced Russian River Valley PN.
May 25, 2017 - Try again in 2 years.
December 2, 2016 - Medium weight pinot noir with cherry fruit mid-palate and supple tannin finish. Everything is integrated. Fair price for what you get. Style is New World, not Old World (or in the words of my wife for Old World - "that tastes like cough syrup"), which is just fine with me.
October 24, 2016 - This is a wow bottle for me -- not a surprise coming from this producer, but it's always really nice to catch an appellation blend going above and beyond. Super fragrant. Getting macerated strawberry, basil, cherry, cocoa, cola, and mushroom flavors. Smooth texture and light in both weight and appearance. Balancing acid and mineral carry the generous finish.
A more positive experience with this bottle than many other CTers -- perhaps just entering its drinking window recently. Wouldn't be atypical for the vintage. Either way, agree with Jason Mills that buy more = TODAY. Drink now and for at least the next three years.
July 2, 2016 - Sorry it's last bottle.
