June 18, 2023 - Light yellow with hints of gold. Aromas of lemon, tangerine, sea air, spring water, a hint of florality. Honeyed fruit on the palate, smooth medium to full body, medium to high acids, low to medium alcohol, a hint of perfumed lychee at the back, medium finish. Very clean lines, pure, not particularly complex but precisely delineated.
July 5, 2022 - Pale gold. Shy nose of figs and toasted almonds. Limpid fruit on the palate with flavors dried pears, strong acids, some sherried notes at the back, medium bodied, low alcohol, long finish. Somewhat delicate with lovely balance and melding. [I have 8 previous tasting notes on this wine going back to 2015 and honestly I'm having trouble seeing any consistency, except that I liked it each time. Wondering what that means.]
March 25, 2022 - Pale yellow, developing a tinge of gold. Complex aromas of honey, gardenia, walnut, stony minerality, a hint of fresh mown lawn. Perfectly centered, medium-bodied fruit on the palate, lemon and yellow plums, lovely broad halo of acid, smooth aromatic transition into the long finish. Perfectly balanced, stunningly delicious. 13% alcohol.
February 9, 2022 - Final of 6 bottles, last consumed 2 yrs prior. Lovely notes of lime and grapefruit, a drizzle of honey, wet slate, nice acidity and a puckering, mineral and honey finish. Drink now, very nice.
November 29, 2020 - Vibrant aromas of sea air, fennel, river rock, lime, and green apple. Vibrant acidity on the palate with an electric focus, precise cut and drive towards the lingering acid finish. Has enormous promise, not quite there yet.
September 10, 2020 - Nez expressif de citron, pamplemousse, d’herbes fraîches. En bouche, il est moins vif et exubérant qu’en jeunesse, ce qui lui fait bien. L’équilibre est excellent. On note une belle complexité, une texture dense, avec une dimension minérale que ne renierait pas le chablisien. Belles longueur et pureté, voilà un Sancerre complet qui entame à peine son plateau de maturité. 92 pts
November 17, 2019 - Nose of honeysuckle, lime, moss, and turmeric. Crisp fruit on the palate with an emerging depth, aromatic back note above a crisp acidic base, evolving and layered into a long acid finish.
August 14, 2019 - 5th of 6 bottles. PnP this evening as we were preparing dinner.
Delicious aromas of lime and grapefruit, with wet rocks, honey, white pepper, and straw notes.
The palate is clean, bright, and tense, with zippy acidity and a long, refreshing finish.
Drink the final bottle anytime between now and 2021.
July 17, 2019 - Nose of lime, preserved sugared lemon rind, dry grass. Rich spread of fruit on the palate with crackling acids, excellent grip and focus. Has a dimension of honeyed age.
April 14, 2019 - Légèrement off a l’ouverture mais il s’est replacé progressivement dans le verre. Une fois placé, j’ai retrouvé le vin que connais avec sa fraîcheur, ses saveurs d’agrumes et sa belle complexité.
