December 14, 2023 - Really singing at the pizza cookoff, smoky, earthy notes with blackberry and blueberry flavors. Peaking now so drink up.
November 30, 2023 - Dark, concentrated fruit of berries mixed with meat, black olives and earth. This is more refined than In the Rocks. Yummy.
June 23, 2023 - From our favorite Washington syrah vintage, silky, well balanced with just a touch of funk on the nose. Two hour decant seemed perfect.
June 8, 2023 - This is really tasting good. Drink up!
January 8, 2023 - Outstanding, typical Reynvaan style, with earthy, Northern Rhone aromas and flavors, very pronounced. Ready to drink, but will easily last 5-10 years.

November 5, 2022 - The Nearly Annual Lyon 10 Year Retro Tasting #24, Wines of Washington (Lyon Again, Eugene, OR): Blind, I thought this was a Cayuse because of its funk. Black and red cherries, red plum, meat, earth and pepper.
Borderline QPR at $70 in 2015. One of 2 wines (out of 35) that were undrinkable on day 3. Don't wait TOO long...
October 16, 2021 - Outstanding, typical Reynvaan style, with earthy, Northern Rhone aromas and flavors, very pronounced. Ready to drink, but will easily last 5-10 years.

October 5, 2021 - Really in a lovely place. Probably past its primary peak. Round, smooth, and mellow. Lovely nose with just a touch of funk. Smooooooth. Yet good complexity and long finish. Ready to drink any time.
July 6, 2021 - After opening a corked bottle a few days ago, we were relieved (and excited) to find another 2012 Contender in typical form. Great vintage, two hour decant, a very refined wine that can pair with hearty seafood dishes as well as red meat. Still plenty of life here.
July 6, 2021 - Corked. Such a bummer for a typically beautiful syrah. Cork literally disintegrated as soon as it touched the corkscrew and the sharp prune juice aroma warned us not to taste (but we did).
