August 7, 2021 - Pop and pour; significant amounts of fine sediment in the bottle. In the glass, dark maroon/magenta at the rim, shading to very dark inky magenta at the core. On the nose, stone fruit, leather, and a bit of graphite. On the palate, currants, plums, a peachy viognier-like note, citrus, and beef blood, with fine tannins supporting the wine through a long finish. I think there are likely a few more years left at this drinking plateau.

June 30, 2021 - deep Ruby color still at 11 years old. The nose is still producing lush dark fruit, tobacco, leather, all spice, cloves. The palate carries red and black fruit, tobacco, and clove again. Tannins are still a bit grippy and firm and acidity is nearly spot on. Drink now with a healthy decant 3-4 hrs+ or continue to age this beast!

June 9, 2021 - Opened up right away, thick glass staining, mild fragrance.
Full bodied, fruit has integrated well, still a little Oak backbone. Medium long finish.

    February 24, 2021 - Deep ruby, (slightly murky)purple
Rich cherry cola flavors with spice
Immediately on opening this bottle was a bit disjointed, but with 30 minutes of air this came together beautifully. Big and a bit sweet, but not over the top. 15.3% well covered. Showing much better than recent bottles of the ‘07 and ‘08

September 5, 2020 - Method: decanted for 2 hours, rebottled, and tasted 2 hours later; 64 degrees; Cab glass

Look: medium+ ruby; medium+ amount of medium and slow legs

Nose: blackberry, cured meat, green olive, potting soil, clove, eucalyptus

Palate: green olive, dried herbs, blackberry, tar, eucalyptus; long- finish of green olive, leather, cedar, tar, mineral; dry; full body; medium- grippy tannin; medium+ acidity

Overall thoughts: Excellent Syrah! Excellent, fully body with deep and complex flavors. Love this!
