February 2, 2024 - DM Wine Dinner (Canary Club, New York, NY): Pretty impressive for a 34 year old Champagne. Still has some effervescence and fruit. Though, this vintage has seen better days.

January 28, 2024 - Krug Lover Dinner with Olivier Krug (Daniel Dal Ban 1876 (Tafelspitz) Düsseldorf): not blind
Best bottle I had from the regular vintage 1989. Slightly more evolved than the CdM. At his peak. No reason for longer waiting. 95

January 15, 2024 - Hello old friend. It’s amazing how every vintage every line of Krug has that same … Krug-ness. This one was showing beautifully with marzipan and rich toast and hazelnuts, but also the lemon line of Grande Cuvee showing lots of freshness. Showing age: the marzipan with whiffs of oily tire fire but otherwise nothing and certainly no mushrooms, forest floor etc. But the acid is still so powerful -- I can only imagine what it was like when new -- that it stays incedibly fresh and vibrant. It’s at a perfect maturity and hard to imagine what would make it better.

December 14, 2023 - Unreal. It was a head snapper for the crowd even after Cristal 2008 en magnum. Krug was a mag too. Bright golden straw color. Aromas of caramel, zesty green apple, lemon and dried apricot. Very similar palate but the zippy acidity brought forth some lemon zest. It was just such a pleasurable wine to drink. The texture was more of a rich older montrachet. Bubbles were still there but weren’t even necessary! So good. Highest recommendation

September 4, 2023 - Magnum, served blind next to 85M. Actually feels older (or the 85 feels significantly younger), again with signature crazy high acidity, citrus, brioche, large in structure with years to go. 94+

September 2, 2023 - Deep gold color. The nose suggest that the wines is advanced in its development., with bruised yellow apple, and some autolytic character. The plate is rich and creamy, on the opulent side, but balanced with a good acidity. Very long finish. Needs a bit of air to reveal itself.

August 19, 2023 - similar to the '95 has just a few days prior, though a bit more advanced. Still with similar wicked acidity. Intense. This will last some while still but depending on how old you like your champagne now is a perfectly good time to crack open and enjoy.

May 2, 2023 - Exactly what vintage Krug should be, especially given the vintage. Enjoyed over the birthday weekend in Dallas. Did not pair with anything but don't think anything would've been worthy of this bottle.

Lots of bubbles, nutty, brioche, and a fair hint of acid left in this 33 year old gem. Tertiary notes are starting to show but don't steal the show.
