  November 5, 2014 - Medium intensity of colour, ruby with a slight translucency around the rim. The nose is interesting - very much that of a natural wine, with sous Bois funk, like a slightly older Pinot. Otherwise there's some rich dark, ripe cherry fruit underneath, but it's a bit of a conflict on the nose.
  
  The palate carries much more freshness than you might expect from the nose however. It has a juiciness driven by red currant and red cherry, but a charred wooden smokiness as well that gives the wine a nice sense of balance. The finish has a certain bitterness to it, but more in the way a green apple finishes than any kind of unpleasantness.
  
  A great example of what natural wine can be - but I can imagine that this won't be to everyone's taste either.

  May 5, 2014 - Drank this across two days. Following the suggestion on the label this was served straight from the fridge. A distinctive ferrous/feral quality initially - on the nose and palate - with juicy red berries and marked acidity. Really sappy and mouthwatering; a Chilean vin de soif. It became a little fruitier on day two but not overly so as there was a nice earthy underlay. Good.
