March 25, 2024 - Fill was a little low despite its relatively young age. Good fruit, mainly blackberry, tar, and some cedar. Pleasant to consume but not complex nor long on the palate. Would drink within the next 5-10 years as this does not have the substance for long term storage.

October 15, 2022 - Tough vintage. PnP. Medium red color. Nose and wine are very meaty and woody with some smoke. Olives and plums with minimal fruit. Big tannins. Would never guess a Napa Cab if tasting blind. Wasn’t bad, but not what the label says it is.

June 20, 2022 - Vibrant black raspberry fruit profile. Refreshing and clean. Superb structure to appreciate the fruit.

May 14, 2022 - Sadly didn’t meet expectations or the level of performance that others have experienced. I don’t think the wine was too young - in fact maybe getting past peak. Tannins mild, thin mouthfeel, muted Cabernet flavor profile. This is my second or third 2011 Napa cab, and they have all been below expectations.

    February 6, 2022 - 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Red garnet, purple core, compact rim. Very slight sign of age.

Nose of crushed blueberry, black currant, nutmeg, cinnamon, anise, vanilla spice, graphite, dry violet, gun powder.

Palate is smooth but nicely dense. Medium plus body, dry. Ample amount of ripe black fruits without the typical Napa overripeness. Black currant, blackberry, dark cherry, some under earth smell, eucalyptus leaves, vanilla bean, charred cedar oak.

Had I tasted this blind, I might have called it a Bordeaux, specifically a St Julien or a Margaux. It is that old school, in a good way. I think this is very much capable of evolving for another 5-10 years and can be drunk for the best part of 10-15 years with ease. Who said that 2011 Napa is a write off again? 91+.
