June 28, 2020 - Acidity still going, but a bit thin and shapeless. There a still hints of citrus, peach and herbs but nothing clearly delineated. Maybe over the hill?
May 29, 2020 - Agree with my last TN, but paired this time with a lime-cilantro beurre blanc over fish that was a great pairing. Really enjoyed. Still could use a bit more acidity.
March 29, 2020 - A good bottle. Plenty of bright acidity, tension, and texture, just a hint of apple cider. This was delicious, but age did it no favors; should have opened it years ago.
January 9, 2019 - My first bottle of this was brilliant. This was pretty much shot. Orange-ish color, burnt carmel nose. Pretty much undrinkable.
December 30, 2018 - Opened 3 bottles, only one drinkable at all. Disappointing, thought they would last this long.
December 23, 2018 - A problem free wine with a light amber color, highly citric acidity, and flavors of winesap apple and comice pear. Finishes long, penetrating, crisp, and refreshing.
December 19, 2018 - Quite golden in color, darker than other Savoys I’ve had. Lots of flavor going on, almost like a fermented (not distilled) ugni blanc from Cognac. Some lemon, tropicals but low glycerine. Somewhat shocking on the palate. Like one CTer said, not really yummy by itself but would make a very interesting pairing with the right food. Not sure what that would be. I tried it with a rich pasta in wine & sausage dish a la Alsace, but that wasn’t so hot.
December 19, 2018 - Oxidized and not really drinkable. Cork and bottle looked pristine. Tasted almost sherry-ish. Sure seems like a surprising number of ruined bottles being posted on CT for this wine...
Opened a second bottle — it was fine.
October 4, 2018 - CdV
Atypique, fermentaire et "pas fini" avec ses aromes de pomme blette, de levure. Il est tendu, minéral mais sans chair, comme anesthésié...
July 23, 2017 - Oxidized, alas mostly ruined. Cork looked sound...
