June 17, 2023 - No sediment on metal screen. Pleasant aroma when poured (not alcoholic). 120min aeration. First glass: heavier than '09 vintage. Tart fruit and along with minerals and spice. Nice, long finish. Substantive but tart. Second and third glasses, at 3hr and 4hr aeration, same. Fourth glass, after overnight, same. Very nice wine and can be kept much longer.
November 30, 2022 - A solid well made Cab that is still drinking youthful.
August 7, 2022 - Decanted for one hour (with a small amount of sediment) based on previous TNs. Color was a medium-deep ruby to a faded rim. The nose was filled with red and black fruit and some earth. The fruit on the medium bodied palate was a combination of black cherry and blackberry and was accompanied by some earth and some spice. The acidity was balancing and there is just a touch of tannin on the finish.
Overall, this wine was just OK. Even allowing for the fact that this was one of the earlier vintages of this wine, it still did not excite us in any way. Hopefully, later vintages will impress.
March 24, 2022 - Still drinking great with a few more great years ahead.
October 29, 2020 - Surprisingly good. Herbs on the nose and developing cedar and dark fruit on the palate. It still needs some time to open up, but holding its own.
May 15, 2020 - Cherry, plum, milk chocolate, and cigar box aromas. Cedar and black cherry flavors that persist. Med body and med plus finish
December 2, 2018 - Drinking very nicely right now. Deep dark and delicious. Decent though. Needs some time to relax
March 27, 2018 - Dark puple, tannic, upside; dark berries.
December 25, 2017 - Paired with xmas eve leftovers at about 10pm... so freaking good!
May 16, 2017 - Notes after following for about 4 hours open. More restrained and classic than what I expect from this producer. Elegant, cool vintage character but to some measure, varietally non-descript. Good now, but I sense the bones for long-term improvement. 5+11+16+8= 90
