Community Tasting Notes 5

September 2, 2018 - Still needs a good aeration to settle and soften . The nose shows fresh notes of white flowers , blackberries, cherries, plums, menthol, and hints of sous-Bois. On the palate this wine is still strongly acidic, with flavours of sour plum or damson compote , and a gentle vanilla finish. Drink this with robust Italian food over the next 5 years.

September 18, 2014 - Similar TN to the last one, it has opened up some more. Nice notes of dark cherries, tobacco, minerals. It's medium+ bodied with medium-high acidity and medium tannin. Good length. A very elegant and finessed Barbera with enough depth.

February 12, 2014 - The wine surprised me very much! I wasn't expecting much but it is really a good wine. Deep, ruby color and nice floral nose (roses?). I could feel also some spices... Nice balance on the palate and very impresive fruity finish. Fully recommend! Decanted 30 mins before drinking.

September 18, 2013 - Inky-purple color. Typical nose of dark cherries, some tobacco and tar. It's medium-bodied but dense, with good acidity and medium but ripe tannin. Good length. This is not an in-your-face kind of Barbera, it's more about finesse and elegance. (89+)
