February 4, 2019 - Maybe I had a bad bottle, all green herb

November 18, 2018 - Drinking quite well. This bottle was a little bit more evolved relative to my previous bottle. Enjoyed the non-fruit aromas and flavors, which I associate with OR PN - at least pre-2012 vintages. Again, preferred it right after being opened - with air it became a little bit flabby.

August 30, 2018 - Brick red in the glass with notes of mushroom, molasses, and violet on the nose. On the palate this wine is all about mushroom and earth with tart mushroom predominating with dark cranberry in the background. A hint of rose petal as well. There’s a generous acidity here with mild tannins.

June 6, 2018 - Opened and drank over 2 hrs. (Did not slow ox this time). My impression is that I preferred this with little to no air. Phenomenal nose. Classic Oregon - turned dirt, mushrooms, forest floor, coupled with some cherries. (Red licorice emerged after 60 mins or so). The palate follows the nose. A tad short of acidity, but some minerality helps. Should drink well for 3-4 more yrs.

May 21, 2017 - Terrific Pinot. Opened and slow ox'd in bottle for 60 min, then drank over the next two hrs. Earthier initially, then air brought up more fruit - mostly cherries. Delicious on both nose and palate. Red cherries, turned dirt, dry leaves, good minerality, good acidity. Delicious mouthfeel. Good structure. Still very young, visually and otherwise. Somewhat big for a Shea, but well balanced. Almost like CA meets OR. Happy as a clam drinking it, but it should be better in a few yrs, with more tertiary notes emerging. Will maybe revisit every 2 yrs or so (three remaining bottles).
