January 5, 2022 - Dark red, blood, earthy rim.
Blood/iron richness, crushed herb spice, plums and black cherries.
Fleshy, pulpy texture, lots of fine but slightly grippy tannins. Red and black berries, cherry pip sourness, delicious earthy goodness. Nicely developed, drinking well.

December 17, 2020 - Beefy, earthy and rustic Pommard that is still very young. Its fleshy and powerful with iron, dark fruit, earth, herbs and dried meat. Best to drink it with food.

August 31, 2019 - Really lovely wine for anniversary dinner at Canlis. This opened up beautifully in the glass. Lovely subtle fruits, some earth and spice. Kept developing subtly in the glass. Very elegant and persistent. Curious to know how this would be the next day, but we left the bottle with the excellent wait staff as a thank you.

June 3, 2019 - Quite dark in colour, surprisingly little discolouration. Spicy, smoky, even slightly meaty on the nose, notes of sweet dark fruit. Quite backward on the palate as well, structured, fresh, mineral with good fruit. Very good length, a little drying. 91-93

April 18, 2015 - Courcel/ Chanson Tasting with Gilles de Courcel (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Open an hour before serving. Lush and powerful red and black cherry from start-to-finish with great density. Mouth coating textures complement the powerful and fresh fruit, all balanced by moderate structure. Very good now, but this will easily last another decade. I have one more bottle and plan to set it aside for at least 5 more years. General consensus this was the best wine of the day. i really enjoyed tasting this alongside the 2009 vintage, which I think might evolve in the direction of this great 1990.

Final glass was poured 12 hours after opening, and might have been the best taste from this bottle.
