December 25, 2023 - Opened at Otto e Mezzo. Slow-oxed for 2 hours before enjoying over lunch.

Coche is Coche. Gorgeous nose of popcorn and caramel, balanced by a flintiness and acidity that put everything in place. Wonderfully round and whole on the palate despite the sharpness. No hint of reduction at all - just buttery wonder that kept on coming in a finish that never seemed to end.

This is in a perfect spot right now. Will still keep for a little while assuming good storage and provenance, but I don't see this getting much better. Perhaps my best experience with Coche Meursault ever, and just shows why this Domaine is in a different league. Thanks to M for the amazing treat - best xmas present ever!

May 28, 2023 - Like previous bottle, a slightly golden color when opened and decanted 90 minutes before drinking. Blossomed slowly, but ultimately was gorgeous and was the consensus favorite of the trio (2007, 2012, 2017).

February 4, 2023 - A hint of the nutty prototypical meursault note, though very RESTRAINED relative to nearly all of the meursault I’ve previously had. A green note — spicy finish (wow). Crisp, clean palate, quite a lengthy finish. @ Napa Boys Trip

December 7, 2022 - In a good place. All the classic Coche notes. Good balance.

September 7, 2022 - Two bottles of U.S. import labels, presumably Narvaux. Both aromatically precise, so Coche, light flint, intense white fruit, sharp minerality. I find myself coming back to this wine throughout the evening, and was even more excited when the second bottle got popped. Straight out of the bottle great. 94

September 3, 2022 - Crazy line up and this was the wotn for me. Nose has gunflints, white flowers, very mineral and typical coche nose. Palate has good acidity and balanced with the warm y taste and the chalky finish. It was in harmony. First coche above regional level and I fully understand the hype.

April 30, 2022 - Really good. Structural elements were still supportive but more relaxed than the ’13. It had some hazelnut cream, white peach and lemon notes. It was full, rich and powerful, with great drive and authority for a village wine. There’s the usual Coche dry extract on the long finish.

October 7, 2021 - Popcorn galore, butter as well. Vibrant, rich, intense, really tight ... great wine. (this was Narvaux)

March 6, 2021 - Another wonderful experience. Extreme balanced and elegant in the bouquet and palate. As good as a Meursault village can get. Marvelous! Can drink or keep.

January 30, 2021 - Was not super aromatic and expressive initially, but after 30 minutes or so it exploded. Fragrant lemon peel and flesh aromas with a huge amount of crushed flint too. Some clementine notes appeared as it warmed up more and had been open for close to two hours. Very energetic palate with that same lemon, though more of a lemon zest rather than whole peels, and again with the intense minerality. Super expansive on the palate and the finish just keeps going and going. Texturally exciting too with the balance of ripe fruit coating the whole palate and then a wave of acidity cleansing it all away. Very delicious.
