July 1, 2023 - This is “good,” if mostly marked by the winemaking. Good energy, very good knitting or structure and drive. But more about richness/texture than terroir. Good, but not my cup of points. Good with a dry/aged steak, but not exceptionally so.
December 1, 2017 - A little past its peak but still nice. drink up
September 8, 2017 - Very nice-drink up, no need to decant at this point
June 30, 2017 - still drinking great
December 17, 2016 - Great value, great consistency, popped and poured but really opened up after 30-45 minutes
March 19, 2016 - Ruby red, medium legs, and medium finish. Austere wine, perhaps a little too tannic. Fruit is in the background, but overall experience was very pleasing.
November 8, 2013 - Decanted and drank over 4 hours. The nose really comes alive after about an hour--classic BdM cherries and flowers. The palate is more unique. I get black cherry, plum, some smoke (in an aged Barolo kind of way), tomato? Plenty of acidity to last, but this suffers from the drying, back end tannin I frequently get in riservas. Chill on the oak, Dude. 90-91 points. Doubtful QPR in this age of relentless quality BdM vintages.
November 11, 2012 - A very nice Brunello with good clarity and color. Initially challenged on the nose but after 45 min it was showing some fennel, cedar and dried fruit, ie; prunes. Nice acidity and well balanced this med-full bodied wine is not overly complex. Flavors of a little toasted grain, tea and mushroom. The tannins are very soft yet noticeable. What's not to like about this wine. It's got some years left.
August 13, 2011 - Good balance and fruit. A very good expression of the style.
June 10, 2011 - Delicious but not complex. This wine is always a pleasure. You can pop and pour. Spicy, bright , leather combined balanced with great fruits. More enjoyable than its score
