January 11, 2023 - Very interesting.... Decanted upon opening, the color was a bit brown, almost like a Nebbiolo. It was thin and quite transparent, as well. Upon tasting, it was dry and austere. An hour later the dark fruit emerged and it actually changed color. It became much more opaque and deep ruby red. I hadn't seen a visual transformation like this. It was quite good, but interesting! (I tried a second bottle two days later. I saw none of the brown color with this bottle. It didn't require any time in the decanter, as well. I don't know what is going on, but both bottles drank very well.)

December 8, 2020 - Mid to deep garnet going to a tawny rim.
Distinct bouquet of Chinese 5 spice, dried plum, candied orange peel, dried banana and a touch of prune. Behind here are secondary aromas of vanilla, coconut of the American oak and banana bread with a subtle spiced element.
Medium-bodied, there is a deep core of fruit underscored by crunchy, fresh acidity. The tannins have a real bite and seem muscular, and ripple through the wine. Luckily the sweetness of fruit assuages the palate from the acidity and tannins. Fruits are redder than black, but there is more balsamic, orange peel and dried herbs throughout. Fairly long but hasn't the complexity of a more serious wine. Dried banana skin melds with the orange peel on the finish.

June 7, 2018 - A few Spanish wines at Eric's: This was the lightest bodied wine tonight. Pretty nose. Elegant, tart red cherries. Nice, but could have used just a little more concentration. I will look to try more from this producer.
