May 23, 2019 - Unsure whether to call it flawed, as my friend loved it!

Brownish deep red, somewhat opaque. A: all brett for me, couldn't get past it, along with a bit of heat. F: better than the nose, but these characteristics still coming through. Fruit is there, but fading, leather and pepper and olive. Seems like a drink now, but could be an off bottle.

February 9, 2019 - A nice experience, even if this bottle is a little tired. Color is a medium garnet with bricking very visible. On the nose you get elements of stewed fruit, dark cherry with some hint of smoke. The "wobbly" nature of the nose is a telltale sign that the wine is already out of balance somewhat - the fruit elements are pushing everything else away. Nonetheless, a pleasant bottle, though I went a bit back and forth on the finish - it varied over the two hours or so that we drank, but ultimately finishing strong. Good producer, nice value, just a touch over the hill I think.

December 26, 2017 - Smooth. Capital S. No alcohol taste. Berries still good after 14 years.

September 8, 2013 - A much more enjoyable bottle. Remains chunky & hefty, but could yet knit together & turn out to be a pleasure to drink.

August 26, 2013 - Clear, medium red. Unfortunately shows a mild cork taint, although it is still drinkable. Otherwise ripe red berries and some liqueur in the nose, palate with sweet and ripe red berries, some alcohol feeling, rather mild tannins, a bit agressive aftertaste due to the cork taint. From half bottle. (Perhaps 81-82 p in this state).

April 18, 2013 - Showing bricking and color separation. Despite being intially smooth, the tannins are still a bit gritty - like fine grains of sugar. Light Ruby color, almost Burg like in a wet year, which was surprising given how hot 2003 was. The wine is clearly at the end of its life with red fruits dominating but a chalky and mineral element post mid palate that cuts off the finish a bit. Drink up because its peak is past.

June 2, 2012 - No formal notes. Brick red color, Very nice bouquet; very fine tannins, and most of the fruit is dull compared to my memory of this wine in 2007 and 2008. Very nice balance, and you don't even notice the 14.5% alcohol very enjoyable, even though it is likely past its peak. Had with lobster thermidor, filet mignon, and risotto.
