February 11, 2018 - Decent if rather muted and darkly shaded Gamay fruit. Thinnish, with biting alcohol and ample acidity and tannins. I can't see this ever really coming together, for my palate. Way overpriced if this bottle is representative. 13% abv
November 24, 2016 - Caught my crew completely off guard...Sat for 2hrs open, with a fried turkey...this was after 3 other premier or Grand Cru burgundies were cracked open...bright mid palate, smooth finish...great call and eye opening for hopefully new bojo fans...
March 1, 2016 - Decanted for 1 h on d1. Still fairly closed and disjointed with acid and earth sticking out. After 2.5h, bright unripe plum and cranberries emerged to complement the structure. Giving some pleasure but not great. D2 was better w greater harmony. Unripe plums, raspberries, pomegranate with earth, herbs, minerals and wet brown leaves. Nice finish. Still feels young or perhaps shutting down? Very good bottle but not great. Check on the last one in about another 3-5 yrs.
February 14, 2016 - Quite a lovely wine, with notes of cherry, earth, and dark fruit on nose palate. Finish is a little thin, which may improve with age. Otherwise, nice balance between acid and tannin, and went very well with food. Can drink now or hold 3-5 years.
December 25, 2014 - very ripe - strawberry and raspberry jam, kind of jammy, palate is slightly awkward and off-balance
November 29, 2014 - Full cherry red. In the nose, this is very direct, fragrant, it displays - for my taste - an almost perfectly integrated oak note, rippe cherry fruit, some blackberry. On the palate, this is very, very expressive, quite spicy, savory, quite fruity still and with a dense, almost creamy mouthfeel. Dynamic acidity in the finish. Excellent.
November 21, 2014 - a Burgundy- night tasting: very powerful and concentrated appearance, high but fine acidity, lively mineralic and lots of red fruit, mineralic, good and fine tannin, medium+ body, long aftertaste, should be cellared for at least 3+ years, do not have much experience with this high class "BEaujolais", but the wines from Chateau Thivin are very impressing and still a bargain, *(**+- *) 88- 91-+?
July 1, 2014 - Concentrated, med+ intense nose with flowers, crushed berries, hint leather and stone. High and lively acidity, med+ body, well integrated, fine tannins. Med+ length. Beautiful structure, great concentration and fruit quality. A fascinating Côte de Brouilly.
