June 24, 2017 - Wonderful red fruit, well integrated oak with tannins a touch on the wild side. They seemed to smooth out nicely after an hour of air. This will be better in two years and should have about five years or more drinking pleasure.

January 17, 2017 - Aerated and decanted for 30 minutes. Did not change much over the next 60 minutes . Lots of red fruit with numerous spices, moderate tannin and acidity. Complex flavors made for a great wine.

September 29, 2016 - It's been 2-1/2 years since I last enjoyed this soon after release. It's developed quite nicely reflecting additional complexity and depth. The Carneros fruit is very decernible with layers of fruit, earthiness, tannin and acidity. Very aromatic and flavorful displaying burnt earth, sour cherry, spicy black raspberry, wild strawberry, black pepper, and some dark chocolate. Deep, rich, and focused mouthfeel with enough acidity and structure to enjoy with food and set up a long finish. Very fine.

September 26, 2015 - Because this gorgeous wine comes from a cool vineyard in a warm area, it offers a lovely balance between bright, lifted red fruit elements of raspberry, cranberry and Bing cherry, and rich, ripe layers of cassis and dark plum. On the palate, it is dense and textured, but with precision and energy that spotlight the abundant red fruit that have come to define Moses-Hall Vineyard. Layers of cinnamon, nutmeg, strawberry compote, bittersweet chocolate, licorice and subtle campfire smoke add deep, appealing bass notes to this wine, while plentiful, yet plush tannins, underscore its richness.
