  September 21, 2020 - c. 1960s era. Brandied cherries, old furniture, old potpourri. A note of red cherry supports the acidity but it's really about the perfume that great old wines can achieve.

  August 1, 2019 - Clean, nice, easy going, quaffable. A very good showing for this wine which was supposedly made to be frunk early.

  January 6, 2014 - Cork nearly made it out intact, but broke apart near the end. A crust covered the cork beneath the seal. Deep cola-ish reddish brown, good clarity after careful decant. Nose is a bit maderized, nutty deep plum, chewy caramel, a touch floral. Quite well balanced, good acidity, good backbone of deep fruit, dark spice, a touch of toasty wood but really in the background. After a few hours, even smoother, more integrated, really nice. The finish is long with a slightly tart cherry character. Quite impressive as I was concerned with a low neck fill.
