March 10, 2019 - Ok, this is strange. This wine, to “her” not “him” was totally undrinkable. Half a bottle was left corked for two days and then retasted before pouring this sucker out. Total change....and this is from “her” perspective is tasting quite decent in fact I could give it a 88 or 89 without a problem. We have one bottle left, want to open it the night before or in the morning before drinking. Wonder if this will help other 2011s that ol’ problem child here has not liked at all.

January 30, 2015 - A major disappointment compared to the Freedom Hill Pinots that Panther Creek made in its heyday, that showcased the Freedom Hill Vineyard as one of the finest in Oregon. Everything is scaled down in concentration, leaving a relatively pale color, thin fruit, and simple wine. Tasted over 5 days with no improvement.

December 8, 2014 - Appearance: very clear, ruby, medium legs.
Nose: raspberry, EtOH, a little smoke and green pepper.
Taste: jolly rancher raspberry, oak, vanilla, and perhaps whole cluster stems?
Mouthfeel: brightly acidic and a bit of heat. Soft finish, medium length.
    Window: now-2017. Low ageing potential.
Overall: 2011 was a cold and wet vintage here in the Willamette valley. A lot of growers harvested early...garbage. Some braved a late season dry spell. I think that this is one of those, but the grapes still didn't quite get there. This is ok, fine table pinot, but not one of the rare exquisite 2011s.

May 15, 2014 - Bright acidity, but scant pinot fruit. Very short finish. No depth. Smooth enough, not bad, but not really good, either.

April 8, 2014 - Hmm, a little thin for my taste and not a lot of the nice berry notes for a Pinot Noir. Glad I didn't pay too much for this or get too many. Acidity bright and needs a little time, but it should be better after an hour in the glass.

March 2, 2014 - Very light, bright acidity, cherry, plum, seemed to become much more balanced and smooth after an hour of opening up.

December 28, 2013 - After having a bigger pinot for supper, we had this bottle while playing Mexican Train. Since it wasn't as big as the other bottle, we dissed it a little. Nice cherries on the nose and palate, with nice acidity ... just a little wimpy ... but still a nice quaffer.
