December 2, 2020 - Ugh. Wish I had read my previous kite before opening this. At first it was closed and reticent. But then opened up into some wonderful savory flavors. On day 2 this has wonderful herbal qualities — at first a strong sense of rosemary and sage. This is something I am realizing is common with les collines. A little funk, but clearly not the rocks. Just underscores how Washington is one of the most interesting places for Syrah these days. Wish I had more of these!

September 19, 2020 - Past it's prime. Started out mediocre, and went downhill from there. What fruit was present at opening was gone within an hour. Dumped without finishing.

June 9, 2020 - 2011 Washington Wines: Informal tasting with friends of four Washington wines from the challenging 2011 vintage. Of the four, this was our favorite.
Medium ruby – blackberry, violets, tar, green pepper, mint, black fruit tea. Medium acid, medium- tannins, 13.6% ABV, medium- body, medium- finish.
A Calling Club Exclusive Release. 100% Les Collines Vineyard – Block 30. 69 cases produced. Unfined and unfiltered, aged in concrete. -

September 7, 2019 - Wow This is really beautiful. I disagree with the last note that the fruit is fading on this. In fact the 2014 description is close to what this bottle is like. Really lovely fruit, with those mid palate spices noted in 2014. This is really well integrated. Reminds me that Washington Syrah outside of the rocks can be excellent. Kudos to Ryan and the team at Kerloo. I am glad I have one more bottle. Wish I had more. This has at least a few more years if not more. I definitely think this could improve.

2/26/2014 (link) ***** points(Kerloo Cellars Syrah Les Collines Walla Walla Valley) An aromatically arresting wine with pure, vivid notes of huckleberry, plum, white pepper, and high toned herbs. The palate is a panoply of fruit and herb flavors with a silken feel, displaying exquisite balance and length. It’s tart and all about elegance and fruit expression. Best the winery has made to date by a good stretch. NB: Club wine. 100% Syrah. Les Collines Block 30. 13.6% alcohol. 69 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
