May 13, 2018 - For a lighter bodied Hunter wine it was strange to see 14% on the label. Was a bit out of shape so capped and came back night two. Smoothed out and drinking better, but not in the greatest window right now. Will be laying my other bottle down for another 10 and taking development on pedigree and trust.

October 24, 2016 - Colour is still a darkish purple with hints of ruby red. Nose was very fresh cherries and strawberries with some earthiness too, just a real fresh nose. Initially more "Shirazy" than "Pinoty".
Tasted a little acidic and some tannins were there, however opened up very nicely with time in the decanter and swirling. Left vacuum sealed overnight and the fruits, tannins and acid all appeared to be in a perfect place the next night with more "Pinoty" characteristics showing through. Initially the alcohol felt a touch strong, but was not an issue after a glass. Finish was long, and left me wanting more. -

June 27, 2016 - 51% shiraz, 49% Pinot, I think or thereabouts.
Pop and poured into a decanter and gave it some agressive swirling
A very clean bright red with little purple. Appearance doesn't give off any age yet. Nose immediately had opened pack of sultana's which blew off after some time and revealing more red fruits, some white pepper and some earthy Hunter dirt.
Medium fine tannins and some oakiness from the Shiraz component, and also had the red fruits and acid of the Pinot component. Was very nice. Could definitely feel the Hunter earthiness of this.
All the components feel a little disjointed at this stage, and not quite all melded together yet. I think time will sort this out though.
Still a very young wine and will keep for at least another 5-10 years. -

December 30, 2013 - Visit to the Hunter: Earth, cherry, spice and a little blood. Light bodied with good texture and tannin influence. Hasn't really budged since the last tasting.
