    A boire.

August 10, 2019 - Sue's Visit and Dinners; 8/9/2019-8/11/2019 (Princeton, NJ): A lovely, aromatic wine with the classic Margaux perfume. Red and black fruits, cherry, leather, herbs. Went quite well with the slow-roasted duck. Drinking well now.

July 28, 2019 - From 75cl, perfect cork. Decanted 30 minutes. Almost exactly as noted on 03.08.2018. Dominant features this (hot) evening: Dark spice bazaar aromatics, violets and fresh blood, rich exotic palate, quite sweet. Best in first hour after opening and at coolish room temperature. Not much fun over 20C, so keep your ice bucket at hand. No hurry, but a good choice for P+P now and until 2022(?) 90-91P

July 5, 2019 - Wonderful wine tobacco aromas ample fruit and mid range tannins. Impeccable balance
This wine should only get better over time.

(Château Giscours) Minty, tart plum nose; ripe plum, berry and mineral palate with complexity; medium-plus finish 93+ pts.

(Chateau Giscours Margaux) A lovely nose here, demonstrating plenty of pure Margaux perfume, remarkable regarding the heat of the vintage. It has a deep, rich, gravelly character that I find immensely appealing. Full and textured on the palate, but with a reserved feel, lovely style though, and a rather racy presence on the palate. The tannins come through on the finish, but overall I find this wines youthful exuberance and structure to have great appeal. And it has typicité, and a good length, too. There's lots here to stand up to the tannins. Really very good indeed.

(Château Giscours) Dark black red color; light coffee, caramel nose; nice, elegant fruit and oak balance with caramel edges; medium finish (should be very nice in 5-plus years)

(Chateau Giscours Margaux) Lovely, lifted and expressive, mineral-tinged fruit here. A delightful impact. Lovely, rounded structure on the palate, which shows a creamy style with nicely knitted tannins, and elegant presence and good balance. Firm acidity and overall very good structure. A success.
