October 8, 2013 - An extremely rare wine! Drank in magnum and blind, the colour was light grenat that I thought it would be an aged Burgundy. But the herbaceous nose told me it was a Bordeaux, but aged. The nose was complex and delicate, some rose petals, cutted grass, leather, liquorice, mint, raspberries(still!)... The acidity was simply ammmmmaaaaazzzziiiiinnnnnnngggggggggggg!!!!!!The tannin was really "soyeux"! The body was fine and elegant, just like a slim girl in mandarin gown, I have never had a Bordeaux with delicate body and acidity like that, just like an aged Burgundy. A "sage" among us told us that the difference between aged top Burgundy and top Bordeaux is very slight, I agree with him, in this case.But it's too late, the QUIE family in recent years did some stupid and unacceptable wines, even if the 2005 vintage was awful (but they rescued themselves in 2009 and 2010), the 1963 glory will never come back again. This memory is good!
