March 23, 2020 - Age has definitely improved this wine. Flavors of cherry, a bit of smoke/tar, vanilla. Soft tannins. Drink up.

June 19, 2018 - This was a surprisingly great wine. I have been really disappointed with most of my mid and high priced Italian wines. This wine was exceptional. Especially after 1 hour. I am not sure what grape is in this wine, but it was tarry like syrah. I really enjoyed this wine and would buy again, knowing it would need this length aging. At $29 I paid, a very good QPR.

October 19, 2017 - Pretty rough. Once again an Italian wine that is unapproachable. Just too tannic. Needed to vinturi to make drinkable. Leave it for another 3-5 years and maybe it will be drinkable.

August 28, 2017 - Spices, black fruit and leather. A tad more interesting for me personally than their Harmonium.

December 6, 2015 - Way better than my last bottle. This was decanted 1.5 hours. Had much more body, way more fruit, soft tannins and at least did not fit into my category of "another disappointing expensive Italian wine." I some times think my problem with these wines is they need 10 years of aging before they are drinkable.

October 25, 2015 - When first opened, pretty thin. I thought I was dealing with yet another disappointing Italian wine. Still disappointing, but not as much as some others. After 1-1.5 hour decant, improved. No off flavors, no bitterness, but no special fruit either. I can take it or leave but for $30, I expected more. Yet another in a long line of disappointing, over priced Italian wines.

March 3, 2014 - Weekly tasting group #109; Wines with 3 glasses in the Italian wine bible Gambero Rosso plus a few special extra's. (@ WW): Pleasant bouquet with red fruits and some floral impressions. On the palate a lot of vanilla from the oak, sweet spices and juicy fruits. Meaty, leather, a good concentration and a mouth full of wine, but for me it lacks a bit in complexity and finesse to belong to the really great.
