March 2, 2019 - Blackberry and raspberry on the nose along with secondary notes of cigar box. You can definitely taste the oak on the mid-mouth feel although this doesn't bother me the way it appears to bother other reviewers. Tannins are present, but nicely integrated - good enough to sip but can still stand up to a steak. I decanted for an hour and it was ready to drink. Interestingly enough, I had never purchased any wines from Leopoldina (apart from the grapes mixed into the black label); this was a mandatory purchase to access the 100 point Fortuna (which I've yet to taste). If the Amoenus and Fortuna version of the 2010 vintage are better than this it will be an enjoyable drinking experience!

January 21, 2019 - This is still a big, burly cab, even after a few hours of air. At the very beginning of its drinking window, if you give it a good decant, 10-15 years left in it easily. Score will likely rise in a few years.

September 24, 2017 - Decanted for about 2 hours before drinking with dinner and really found it stride about 3 hours in where the nose opened up nicely with beautiful cherry and strawberry. My only complaint was the wine was a bit hot and stylistically wasn't as elegant as we prefer. That said, it was a very nice wine and we enjoyed quite a bit.

March 22, 2017 - Dark fruit, dark currants, licorice, vanilla, silky smooth palate, really comes alive with some air. Tannins are real fine grain but still pretty massive in the tail end. Really nice.

March 20, 2017 - Dark fruit, raisin, licorice, vanilla, cassis, tea, chewy tannins galore. A lot of oak still on the finish of this wine, it's a pretty big wine, full body, needs time but it should get better. Seems like a lot of the '10 Turnbulls were like this.

March 10, 2017 - This bottle was a bit more oxidized than others I've had. Dark cherry, raisin, cassis, tea, chewy tannins that really coat the mouth. Extracted and intense wine, this is a big boy that needs time.

February 10, 2017 - Nose of tea, tobacco, cherry and cassis. Palate is silky silky smooth, chewy tannins through out, full body with a real mouth coating feel and acidic lift. Dark red and black fruits, tar, vanilla, clove, currants and cherry. Really good, but still needs time as mentioned in other reviews.
