October 26, 2021 - This bottle need aeration. Purple fruits, good tanning and acidity. Mouth coating, m+ flavor intensity, good concentration. Has the Mugnier sweetness.

September 6, 2018 - More impressive than charming right now; quite ripe with a very dark fruited character (rather than the more red fruited flavours I usually expect from Chambolle), with lots of earth and other savouriness emerging with air. There's lots of depth here, the palate conveys a sense of power and heft, and there's still some fine grained tannin suggesting this has time ahead.

September 2, 2018 - I was of half a mind to sell my bottles of this given the current market. Maybe not. Spherical and velvet with red currants and cherries wrapped in spice and propped up by mineral lift with arch delicacy. To use a Coad-ism, gossamer. Really good and has made that decision for me.

April 17, 2018 - At Acker's Wine Workshop Chambolle-Musigny Terroir Tasting at the Michaelangelo NY. Gamey nose and finish. Very masculine. I did like this but the group generally agreed this could be slightly oxidized and was not reflecting the '99 fruit typicity.

April 10, 2018 - This nose is very soft, elegant, and delicate. Quiet and bordering on inexpressive. Requires focus and coaxing to get at the spice and earth in the red cherry. This bottle could be suffering from sight oxidization. On the palate this is also soft and delicate but is shallower than I expected without the ‘99 powerful fruit. This did come around substantially after two hours and put on some weight and expression, but overall I was expecting more out of this.

March 14, 2018 - 99 Mugnier Fuees is floral with a bit of funk, rose petal and herbs. The fruit is tart. For a 99 red burg from Mugnier, it underperforms but enjoyable. I think Mugnier had not gotten it right in the 90s. If you drink this now, you can just pnp. Drinking at plateau. No need to age further. 91-92

March 3, 2018 - La Paulée de San Francisco - Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Late night, small glass, brief note. More subtle and elegant than powerful, very charming now. Good weight, length, very good balance.

October 16, 2016 - Better than expected. Cool high quality fruit with cherry and marionberry, organic notes underneath with damp soil and leaves, faint spice. Vibrant acid across the palate with an energetic finish. A good deal more depth and heft here than I recalled

October 21, 2015 - I tagged SDR's note as "helpful" as it encouraged me to open a bottle this evening.

Turns out it was spot on.

Great showing for a great wine.
