January 5, 2023 - Similar to previous notes, the profile is not so appealing - a bit firm and closed. I think I need to avoid Syrah from this appellation. I tend to much prefer styles from Napa and Paso Robles.
February 25, 2021 - Dark purple in color. True to the varietal and terroir showing intense aromas of candied black raspberry, violets, tar and bbq smoke. Full-bodied palate follows through with sweet crushed black small fruits, hint of pepper, roasted coffee, medium (-) acidity and a long smoky and fruit filled finish. Nice.
August 13, 2020 - Not my kind of syrah style. There is no creme aspect, which I tend to seek out and often can get form some good Paso Robles syrah, but not here. This is quite drab and muted, not much charm. Not one I'd seek out again.
February 16, 2020 - Dark reddish-purple. Soaring aromas of black-raspberry jam, tar, roasted coffee and smoke. Full bodied in the mouth shows smoky and jammy black fruits, hint of medium acidity, very fine tannins and a long, roasted coffee finish. Wonderful expression of new world Syrah.
November 12, 2019 - Drinking beautifully and shows like it has some time to go
August 10, 2019 - This is a solid syrah that will not disappoint. Paired with a slow cooked braised lamb shank. So good......
May 26, 2019 - Lovely, very pleasant surprise as did not expect much.
November 20, 2018 - Really nice Syrah from Ste Rita Hills. SRH is interesting as it produces some of the Central Coasts best PN and Rhone's. This wine can go down in the books as a wine for a tasting class to demonstrate what "tar" is like in a wine/syrah. It is really upfront. If you like tar in Syrah (which I do), this is fabulous wine.
November 21, 2017 - One of the best cheap syrah. Wish we had bought more for every day wine.
October 8, 2017 - My last score in 2015”6 was 93, but the last 2 bottles here in 2017 were much less interesting. Seems to be fading. Drink up.
