July 15, 2023 - Exquisite! Poetry in the glass. Opened about 8 hours before and then decanted for an hour. One bottle left. Wish I had many more. In a perfect spot now, but no need to rush.

December 29, 2022 - Drinking really well, although perhaps just starting to decline from its peak drinking plateau. Opened about 8 hours before drinking and then decanted about an hour before. A very pretty Barbaresco. Served on Christmas Eve with osso bucco, which was pretty much as good as it gets.

November 25, 2022 - Piemonte: Back to the truffling!; 11/24/2022-12/3/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Opened and decanted for sediment and then rebottled. Such an interesting wine. The more time it was exposed to air the more that the fruit came out and honestly the more it tasted a bit like the Serafina Rivella which we were drinking alongside. This was light and bright but not quite as light as sometimes he manages with the wine. My guess is the regular white label barbaresco from that year even though there was a tine note about the Rabaja. Still a good wine and enjoyable.

February 16, 2021 - Decanted 4 hours. Really good wine - soft, supple. Lots of leather and saddle, red and dark fruits. Medium in color showing its age a bit. This was a highly complex wine with a ton a nuance. Good vibrant flavors. Tannins well integrated. At peak.

May 31, 2020 - Two hour decant. Pretty mature nose of faded flowers, red fruits. The palate is fully mature and in early decline but still delicious with red and black fruits, earth, and herbs. The palate is open knit after decanting with the tannins fully resolved but shows interesting layers of complexity and has a nice interplay of fruit and savoury characteristics. Drink up soon. It won’t get any better from here.

June 16, 2019 - Opened one hour in advance. Aromas of tobacco and rhubarb. Rich, sappy flavors of black fruit and tea. Tea and licorice in the finish. Refined, fully mature, complex, nuanced. Excellent.

June 15, 2018 - Bruno Giacosa Tribute Dinner (Casa Tartufo, Singapore): Yet another very lovely wine. What a knockout Barbaresco nose it had - rose and cherry, earth and smoke and spice, a bit of tar, a kiss of herb, all unfolding in a sweet, seductive bouquet edged with a smoky, tarry lilt. Wow. The palate was lovely too, rich, delicious, with thick dark cherry flavours, and then nuances of spice, tar and earth - powerful and rich with 1997 ripeness, yet still balanced and lithe all the way into its long finish. We had such an amazing line-up tonight that this was probably one of the the poerer showings - it was just not quite as effortlessly elegant as some of the other wines on show, but nevertheless a lovely and delicious bottle in its own right.

February 12, 2018 - Drank blind at WWC Nebbiolo tasting vs a Giacosa 97 Barolo. Fascinating comparison, & easily the 2 best wines of the evening. (see my notes on the barolo, which most preferred). This wine had a wonderful nose of red fruit, roses and baked spices. Decent, but fading amount of red fruit here. Tobacco, earth, meat on the palate as well as fruit. The wine faded a bit in the glass I felt, leading to a slightly lower score. Enjoyable older BB nonetheless. I would NOT decant this wine
