September 25, 2016 - Plus rond et en fruit que mes souvenirs, un peu de poivrons verts, original et typé

July 13, 2015 - Sensing the barrel oak on the nose before even tasting. The taste is surprisingly medium-bodied, as I was expecting bigger -- but delicious and worth a repeat.

November 8, 2014 - Dark cool fruit, blueberry, blackcurrant and blackberry. Some spice in the background together with licuorice and a beautiful minerality. Dark wet stones. Great nose. Light textured palate, same fruit plus a whiff of metal in the aftertaste. Still a very cool expression, easy drinking. Nice round acidity. After an hour I'm picking up some purple artificial notes. Still young and could benefit from a couple of years in the cellar.

September 17, 2014 - If anything, more delicious than the previous bottle with invigorating minerality standing out. I didn't feel the need for more age on this one.

June 8, 2014 - I love this estate's entry level Lo Sang del Païs but feared that this "superior" cuvée might be over-extracted and/or too international in approach. I need not have worried. It is definitely more deeply coloured, fuller bodied, denser and more tannic but shows no obvious oak patina and retains the original savoury and tangy character of its junior brother. It is already excellent with rare steak but I feel it may become more complex with a few more years ageing. I guess that the Teuliers think so too because they have put on the back label "to drink or to keep ten years and more". Does anyone here have experience of Marcillac with some age on it? Very good.
