April 26, 2015 - Enjoyed after dinner by the fire pit. Good for the price.

    April 11, 2015 - A good drink for a budget Bordeaux.

February 15, 2015 - This wine definitely needs to breathe after decanting. Give it at least two hours. More if you can. It will improve a lot. I had this wine with a dry-aged New York strip steak at home, pan-grilled (to keep the juices) perfectly, if I may say so, to medium-rare. They went together swimmingly. It was my first time eating dry-aged beef. Good but not /that/ much better than regular beef. A lot depends on the cut of course. Definitely a food wine, as most Old World wines are. The 55% Cab is prominent in this wine. It gives it weight and tannins. 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Haut Médoc just north of Bordeaux along the left bank of the Gironde estuary. Gravelly soil, but with quite a bit of variation within this relatively small appellation. Drink now to mid-2016 or so. $10. Although it's a good value, I might not buy this wine again. I might spend a few dollars more and get something better. Overall value: 3.5 stars of 5.

November 13, 2013 - Just a general "offness" to the taste. It was nowhere near undrinkable, but there was definitely nothing to recommend it, especially given the number of other far superior Bordeaux in the same price range.
