August 7, 2022 - Drank alongside a 2012 Chateau de Beaucastel. The Beaucastel outshined this Tablas Creek, but not by much. It was delicious.

May 17, 2022 - Medium clear garnet with some age on the rim. Beautiful nose of dark cherries, plums, licorice, and a savory understory. Body is balanced with medium to resolved tannins, still fresh acidity over dark fruits and a medium long finish. Lovely with pasta and grilled ahi tuna. No rush to drink but in a great window.

May 14, 2022 - Cork and bottle in perfect condition, could honestly go for a few more years before peaking. Smoked meats coming through strong, a real pleasure if you still hold

May 9, 2022 - Balanced Rhône ranger, I like The Tablas style. I like the blend. Not in the overdone Paso style. Good equilibrium.

April 9, 2022 - Dried fruit/ raisin/slight forest floor/earthy/barky. Great acid/mod tannins/good persistence with notes of christmas spice/fruitcake. Lovely but no where to go

March 8, 2022 - If anything this wine just gets deeper...similar notes as previous otherwise: Long, lingering, lovely--lots of deep dark fruit, some oak but very much in balance with good acidity and waves of grace notes, from black pepper to tobacco.

January 22, 2022 - A one-hour decant puts this offering in a perfect place, ready to enjoy. Wildflowers and berries in the nose, followed by a fruit bowl of berries and dark pitted fruits on the palate, with an intriguing dash of smoke and tar in the finish. Will last another decade. But enjoy in the next two years to take advantage of the fruit and floral nuances. Worth Seeking Out.

January 2, 2022 - Got better as it opened up. Deeper flavors at this point versus drinking “young”.

Berries and cherry with some peppery and mineral tones. Consistent on the palette from start to finish.

December 25, 2021 - Replacement bottle kindly provided by the winery. Not decanted. Showing some early signs of maturity, with blackberry, cherry, leather and savory olive notes. Well balanced, with medium acidity and medium tannins fully integrated.

December 14, 2021 - Really needed the decant time -- just flat and boring on opening.
With a decant - spice, earth, dried berries, floral on the nose.
Not much fruit here, very old world in style - also acidity on the finish with solid tannins.
Did not hit the spot tonight, although I did enjoy the floral notes.
