February 14, 2022 - Black and blue fruits, nice balance, and a decent finish. Disappointing lack of varietal characteristics - no pepper, no grilled meat, no baconfat, etc. Still, it was a solid, well balanced wine. Holding up well, but it's probably time to drink up.

September 29, 2020 - Super drinkable. Needs a little bit of time to open up but gradually develops deep peppery aromas. Slight leathery taste and then rich, round peppers on the palate with a blackberry core. Incredible value.

June 4, 2020 - Deep ruby with fine sediment with a complex nose and palate of blackberry, black plum, dark cherry, boysenberry, red fruit, black licorice, black olive, smoked meat, spice, and black pepper. Remarkably youthful; I didn't detect any tertiary elements yet. This outstanding wine easily delivers over others at three times the price (I paid $19 in 2013). It's evolving nicely and still has a lot of life ahead of it. Medium acid, medium chalky tannins, 14.5% ABV, medium+ body, medium finish.

Cool-climate Syrah, sourced from three distinct sites, each lot vinified using native yeasts and between 33-50% whole cluster. Raised in 100% French oak with minimal new for 11 months, racked once prior to bottling. 14 barrels made.

February 19, 2020 - Down to my last 2 bottles. Damn, this is in a great place right now. A very rhone-like meaty nose of bacon fat, pepper and olive tapenade. Medium- to full-bodied, with perfumed red fruit, herbs de provence, white pepper and a smooth finish. But wow, the nose.

January 31, 2020 - Deep ruby red. Dark nose with blackberries, anise, crushed rocks, black olives and a bit of game meat. Medium tannins (6/10) with balanced acidity and a medium to medium plus body. A bit smoky on the palate with bramble berries, olives and earthiness. Long finish. Drink till 2022.
