August 16, 2016 - All we are saying, is Give Temp a Chance. Decanted 1 hr. ahead, off of some light but pleasantly surprising sediment. Very deep garnet with a bit of copper/brick in there. Very nice nose of hard spices, black cherries, woody notes, black and white pepper. Fairly full-bodied on the palate, with a rich texture that's made richer by the smoothed-out (but not flabby) acids. Finishes well, with just a hint of drying, dusty tannins. I waited for a couple of years on this wine, and it has pretty much vindicated my hopes. It's fragrant, smooth, and rich. And I think it was about $21.

June 16, 2015 - Decanted 90 mins ahead, and it took all of that to open up. Deep garnet color. Nice nose of pine, cherries, hard spices. Delicious and ingratiating on the palate, as red-fruit flavors lead over earth notes. It's medium-bodied with fairly firm acid balance. Finishes well with a bit of grip and low tannins. For about the first hour, this wine was fairly dumb, not showing much in the nose. Once it opened up, it vindicated my faith in Bokisch.

April 30, 2014 - The nose showed ripe cherry with hints of herbs and clove spice. As you dig a little deeper, earthy dark soil tones come forward with underbrush, yet constant ripe red fruit dominates. On the palate, it was juicy and fresh, with concentrated red and hints of blue fruit ushered across the senses by silky textures and a hint of tongue curling acidity at the close. The finish left the palate thirsting for more with a great balance of acid and tannin, which ultimately left me feeling wholly satisfied. This is a great value

November 7, 2013 - This wine came from the Las Cerezas and Liberty Oaks Vineyards. Thus it is the same wine as the dual-vineyard designated wine that someone else encoded here on CT. (The other entry is accurate, but that vineyard information is not on the label anywhere.) Anyway, to business: Decanted 1:30 ahead. Deep ruby color. Nice nose of hard spices, black cherries, tobacco. Brisk and firm on the palate, as tobacco and cassis notes join in a tart acid balance. Finishes well with light tannins and some orange peel. This wine is delicious right now but I think it will come together a bit more in a couple of years.
