January 18, 2020 - Just had my third of 4 bottles. Everyone too tannin to deink.

January 24, 2019 - dark burgundy in color with no bricking. opens with a nose of blackberry, plum/prune, underbrush, and leather. 2 hours in and the nose is still brilliantly persistent. On the palate, the wine expresses blackberry, dark plum, with hints of cedar and leather. there's good acidity with rounded tannins that are just starting to fully soften and become integrated into the wine. Secondary flavor characteristics are just starting to come to the fore. .

April 6, 2018 - 4th Annual Wild Game Dinner (Chateau de le Shane aka Shane's house in New Jersey): Tasted during preparation for Shane's 4th Annual Wild Game Dinner. Ever so slight bricking on an otherwise young looking medium garnet color. Nose is very herbaceous and floral along with red fruit. On the palate it has moderate but mostly integrated tannin and moderate acidity, there are herbal notes of lavender, eucalyptus and mint along with bright cherry and red currant. The moderately long finish has a little leather and cedar as well. Very nice but not likely to improve measurably though probably will keep at this level for a handful of years or more.

November 25, 2015 - Opened, poured into a decanter, and let sit for an hour before dinner. Then served with food (roast rack of pork, with roasted potatoes, and broccoli,in case you were wondering.)
Dark color. Nose is black cherries and some oak and vanilla.
Good rich flavors of dark fruits, chocolate and dried mint. Nicely balanced with acidity. Tannins are present but the wine is so inviting that one can look past that. There is a hint of oak/vanilla on the finish.
    A delicious wine.
