November 6, 2018 - Still holds good body and spice at this age. Dark red in color with black fruit and hint of minerals. Drinking well now but still has some years to go.

March 16, 2018 - Alcohol and oak. At this point drink up or dump.

After about an hour the strong alcohol and oak blew off. Flavor increased a lot. Real nice after that .

December 10, 2017 - As per Barry G TN. There is life left in this yet, unfortunately it was never in the best of health due to the excessive booze level. A decent wine lies underneath but only shows itself on occasion.

September 24, 2017 - This would have probably been a great wine three years ago but unfortunately it is now past its best. Nose is unbalanced and the wine has a fine sediment throughout. Sparks of a good wine persist, it is smooth with good length and a lingering caramel aftertaste but not enough to offset the unpleasant nose and ashtray palate.

January 17, 2017 - Too much heat after opening. Tasted like a shot of whiskey. Mellowed after about 30 minutes, could taste tannins and some fruit. Will see how it tastes on day 2, but I think this bottle is past its prime.

Second day was better, but way too much alcohol and not enough fruits and tannins.

June 6, 2016 - Sure a lot of good things going on here. Very nice oak finish that really made this a nice bottle to drink.

October 25, 2014 - Big and Hot! Meaty sweet leather and plenty of oak. As you would expect. If only the alcohol was a touch lower this would have been a well balanced aged Barossa.

August 25, 2013 - PNP, used a bit for cooking the roast. Very nice with lots of mellow black fruit, a bit of chocolate and a smooth long-lasting finish. Still in a great spot IMO. If scoring 90-92.

May 26, 2013 - The cork disintegrated as I tried to pull it, but the wine was fine. No better than fine. Rich complex flavor, with excellent viscosity, and a strong finish.

April 17, 2013 - Too much alc. No way can you pop and pour this, even at 9 years old. Just heavy heavy at first, then eventually the fruit emerged and after a day there was some layering of chocolate and vanilla. The fruit is a bit forced, the tannins are nice and smooth but too much body thru barrel ageing.

Maybe I'm just not man enough.
