Community Tasting Notes 8

February 14, 2019 - From 75cl, perfect cork, decanted 1 hour, a teaspoon of powdery sediment. Dark purple with some orange at the outer rim. Previously tasted on 24.02.2004 at the Chateau, this has either been transformed by cellar time or they put the wrong label on this particular bottle (which I severely doubt). Inital blueberry essence on scent, later classic blackcurrant, cedar etc. Fabulously concentrated, wide-open Cabernet Sauvignon entry with an astonishing depth of fruit - acid - textural perspective. Vibrant, tingling finish and minutes-long aftertaste (zing! zing!) By far the finest 2002 I have yet tasted (and I went long on 2002 en primeur), a gorgeous, hedonistic Pauillac. If you can find a bottle in good condition, fasten your seat belt. A bargain at 35 EUR. 94P

May 27, 2017 - Each time a big surprise. Perfect Pauillac. Decanted and after 3 hours a perfect harmony, mature tannins and long on the palate.

September 19, 2016 - Very elegant, integrated, somewhat lean on the palate, solid structure, good acidity, finishes with energy. Seems like it is in a really good place.

March 4, 2016 - Pretty spice and floral scent. Elegant, black cherry, black tea, mineral and anise flavor with plentiful smooth tannins.
